Routing decided by measured quality and cost.

NRSA — Network Routeing Scheme Assignment — is the routing engine we built ourselves. For every destination, it ranks every supplier by a Total Quality Indicator computed from live traffic, and writes that order to the switch, prefix by prefix.

Total Quality Indicator

Five inputs. One score per supplier, per prefix.

A route is not good because it is cheap, nor because it answers. It is good when what it delivers is worth what it costs. The TQI puts both in one figure.

ASR

Answer-seizure ratio

The share of seized calls that are answered.

NER

Network effectiveness

Read from the release causes the network returns: did the network deliver the call at all.

ACD

Average call duration

Call duration, interpreted alongside traffic type and other quality indicators.

PDD

Post-dial delay

The delay before ringback, used to assess call setup performance.

Cost

The rate of the destination

What the route costs against what it earns, so quality is never bought at any price.

Other parameters of a route's behaviour are measured alongside. How the inputs are weighted is our own, and is not published.

Measurement windows

Six windows, from the last hour to the last four days.

A sudden failure shows in the last hour before it shows in the day. A slow drift shows over days before any single hour looks wrong. NRSA keeps both in view.

Prefix precision

The most specific prefix decides.

A mobile range inside a country is ranked on its own traffic, not on the country's average. When several prefixes match a number, the longest one's ranking applies.

How it runs

From measurement to the switch.

What NRSA does

  • Collects answered and failed calls for every supplier on every destination, over each window.
  • Scores each supplier with its Total Quality Indicator. Routes with enough traffic to measure are scored on their own figures; the others use configured defaults until enough measurements are available.
  • Ranks suppliers prefix by prefix, most specific prefix first.
  • Writes the order to the switch, and does it again as the traffic changes.

What it means for your traffic

  • Updated measurements inform the ranking alongside configured route policies and overrides.
  • A dearer route that holds its numbers can rise above a cheaper one that does not.
  • The order follows live traffic, not a spreadsheet updated once a month.
  • CLI and NCLI routes are ranked as what they are, never swapped to widen a margin.

Next step

Send traffic to routes that earn their place.

Tell us the destinations and volumes you want to move. We come back with a rate sheet per prefix and a test window, with NRSA ranking based on measured traffic or configured defaults.
